If you will be attending UF next year,
please read the announcements below from UF's Director of Freshmen Admissions:
Summer Sessions
UF had previously announced that the first summer session, Summer A/C, will be entirely online. Earlier this week, we learned that instruction for the upcoming Summer B session will also be taught exclusively online. Additionally, the Summer B term will start one week later than previously scheduled, with classes beginning on July 6 instead of June 29.

Students admitted to begin in the Summer B term were emailed yesterday and have two options for their enrollment:
1.
Remain in the Summer B term and begin classes online on July 6. If a student chooses this option, no action is needed
2.
Move their admission to the Fall 2020 term. To do this, a student must fill out the term change request form that now appears on
their application status page. We ask that they fill out
this form as soon as possible, and preferably by May 1. Term changes to
Fall 2020 will be made within 2-3 business days after the form is
submitted.
Admitted Student Confirmations
In recent years we have waived our $200 enrollment deposit for students who applied with an application fee waiver as well as those that were awarded a federal Pell Grant, and this practice has continued this year. Given the financial uncertainties many students and families are now facing, going forward we are also waiving the enrollment deposit for all first generation college students. Any student without a waiver who needs one due to changes in their family’s financial circumstances should contact the Admissions Office and the fee will be waived.

We understand that some students and families will need more time beyond the May 1 confirmation deadline to make an enrollment decision. If a student needs an extension, direct them to contact our office and we will be as flexible as possible. Please keep in mind that with campus visits cancelled through at least June 30, students will not be able to receive a deadline extension for the purpose of visiting campus before making a decision.
Orientation: Preview
Our orientation program, known as Preview, will be entirely online this year. Admitted students received an invitation to sign up for Preview two weeks ago. If they did not receive this email or have questions about registering for Preview, please direct them to the Dean of Students Office website.
As
I said at the outset, there are still more questions than answers, but I
hope this information is helpful to you and your students. We will keep
you, as well as our admitted and
prospective students, informed with any relevant updates impacting
admissions and enrollment at UF. You can also monitor the Admissions
website and the UF website for
updates. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact our office at 352-392-1365 or through our contact
form and let us know how we can help in these uncertain times.
