Update on summer assignments

Due to the start of school moving to August 24th incoming freshmen summer assignments will be due on the 24th. Instructions for electronic submissions and how to turn in the novels will be communicated next month.

All other grade levels should monitor ManageBac messages for information concerning possible deadline changes.

Senior extended essays are still due this Saturday, August 1, at 9am.

Reminder to choose your scholar's learning option for 2020/2021

Dear Pinellas County Schools Families

This is a final reminder to choose your child’s learning option for Fall 2020 at https://reservation.pcsb.org before 5 p.m., Monday, July 27. If you have already visited our Student Reservation System and made your choice, please disregard this message.

Families have three learning options to choose from: Traditional (Face-to-Face), MyPCS Online or Pinellas Virtual School. For more information on learning options, please visit www.pcsb.org/reopening.You must choose one of the options at https://reservation.pcsb.org before 5 p.m. on Monday, July 27.

Parents that fail to select a Learning Option by the deadline will default to the Traditional in-school face-to-face Learning Option.

The Student Assignment Office can assist parents with issuing or resetting parent IDs.

You can call the office at 727-588-6210, or for faster service, please email a copy of your driver’s license to StudentAssignment@pcsb.org.

Subject: Important Reminder: Choose your student’s learning option by 5 p.m., July 27

Dear Largo Families

Please remember to choose your child’s learning option for Fall 2020. Make sure to finalize your choice using the Student Reservation System before the deadline on Monday, July 27.

Families have three learning options to choose from:

  • The Traditional Option, where students have face-to-face instruction at their assigned schools
  • MyPCS Online, where students have virtual instruction, stay enrolled at their assigned schools and keep their seats in District Application Programs
  • Pinellas Virtual School, where students have self-paced virtual instruction, but they will not be enrolled in their assigned schools or keep their seats in District Application Programs

You must choose one of the options at https://reservation.pcsb.org by 5 p.m. on Monday, July 27.

VIRTUAL SPECIAL CALLED SCHOOL BOARD MEETING – July 14, 2020

NOTE: VIRTUAL SPECIAL CALLED SCHOOL BOARD MEETING – July 14, 2020, immediately following the 9:30 a.m. School Board workshop


As a result of the public health emergency that exists due to the COVID-19 VIRUS, and upon the authority granted by Executive Orders issued by Governor Ron DeSantis, including Executive Order 20-150, the School Board of Pinellas County, Florida, hereby gives notice that it will conduct a virtual public meeting using telephonic technology on July 14, 2020, immediately following the School Board Workshop.

The public can attend this virtual meeting by listening to the meeting live by calling one of the following phone numbers:  1-929-205-6099 or 1-888-788-0099 (toll-free) and entering meeting ID Number 830 3727 1413 and Password 665126, or visiting www.pcsb.org/boardvideo.  For those without internet or phone access, you may come to the following access point where a telephone speaker will be housed allowing anyone to listen to the meeting:  301 Fourth Street Southwest, Largo, Florida. 

The public may submit comments to the School Board by: (1) sending them in writing to the following email address: publiccomment@pcsb.org, or (2) calling 727-588-6122 and orally providing the comments, which will be transcribed.  All comments submitted prior to the start of the meeting will be sent to all School Board Members and the Superintendent prior to the meeting.  For all comments submitted after the start of the meeting, but prior to the consideration of the relevant portion of the agenda, district staff will strive to immediately send them to the School Board Members and the Superintendent.  All public comments timely received will be appended to the meeting minutes.

Graduation Class of 2020

Tomorrow we honor our Largo High School graduating class of 2020. Graduation is more than just one day or one ceremony — it’s about honoring your years of hard work and dedication. We are living in unprecedented and unpredictable times due to the pandemic. Although it’s impossible to say what will happen in the next few months, tomorrow we celebrate you. It may not be exactly how we envisioned this moment but with a sense of collective resilience, we honor you and celebrate your accomplishments. We look forward to seeing the amazing things your future will bring.


Important information:

If attending the ceremony, please remember to bring your cap, gown, and an umbrella. Flat shoes are recommended.
