PTSA Volunteer Opportunity for Teacher Appreciation Week

Sharing a PTSA message for our IB Parents. If you are already a PTSA member we thank you :)
Please contact the PTSA if you would like to volunteer - ptsalargohigh@gmail.com

Hello PTSA members-

Staff appreciation week is almost upon us! It is held the first week of May so it’ll kick off on May 3.

We’re super lucky this year as IB Partners secured a donated breakfast for the staff on the Wednesday of the week from Benedict’s and Achieva. Then IB Partners will sponsor a lunch from Tijuana Flats on Thursday. We’re so grateful as this is so helpful for PTSA and the staff will love both of those days!

So PTSA is going to do a Giveaway Monday, Soup Luncheon on Tuesday, and Float Friday (root beer/soda floats).

HERE’S WHERE WE NEED YOUR HELP!!! We need giveaways and crockpots of soup/desserts :-)

Giveaways: gift cards to places staff members would enjoy (sometimes places you frequent are happy to make a donation- hair, nails, restaurants) and new items staff would enjoy (no alcohol :-) that we could make baskets with. Those donations can be sent to the front office with “PTSA” on them and Ms. Ford will know to get them to us. Or if you prefer, we can pick it up from you, just email ptsalargohigh@gmail.com.

Soup: a crockpot of your favorite soup- homemade or store-bought or a dessert! We won’t serve until 1:30 on Tuesday, May 4, so it can come in at any time of the day before then.

Please have giveaways to the office by April 30 and just email back (ptsalargohigh@gmail.com) if you can help out with the soup lunch.

Pass this along to anyone you think might like to help out!

Thanks very much-

PTSA Board

Graduation Info for Seniors

Seniors - There are many questions about Graduation being asked. They are having a graduation assembly next week on Thursday where they will advise students about the information they currently have available. Please have your scholar join the remind.com group because they are consistently getting updates about new information. They will share as much as we can at the grad assembly next week and if there is something they do not know then we will update via the remind and you can find out through your child.

Here is the Remind code information: Senior Remind Code Information

Senior Last Supper Information

IB Senior Last Supper Games: April 30th, 8am-11:00am on the LHS football field. In years past, the Last Supper has been a potluck dinner held just prior to the start of exams. This year, however, the Last Supper will be held in the morning and has been dubbed the Last Supper Games as seniors will still wear togas to the event but will play games in teams if they choose to. The underclassmen will be in the stands to clap the seniors in and cheer them on during the games. The juniors will present the seniors with their exam bags. The underclassmen will head back to class and the seniors will have time to play some more games, have a snack and receive the teachers’ “Just Desserts”. Everyone will be masked and each game station will have hand sanitizer and wipes. The games are being chosen to facilitate social distancing. Scholars will be called to the food and Just Desserts tables to avoid large numbers. Volunteers will be gloved and serving food to the scholars. If you have questions, please email largoibpartners@gmail.com.

Senior Grad Night Information

Good afternoon Senior Families

Due to the COVID pandemic, we have not been able to provide all of the traditional senior activities we have had in the past, and I wanted to let you know the high school principals and our district have been working diligently behind the scenes with Busch Gardens to provide our seniors with a special private after-hours event that follows our school board policies, and is in line with current CDC guidelines such as social distancing, wearing masks with temperature screenings and hand sanitizer stations.

As a result, we are excited to announce that we will have a Pinellas County Schools Grad Nite for seniors at Busch Gardens on May 7th from 7 pm to midnight. Our seniors will have access to top-rated coasters during an exclusive, after-hours private event in an electrifying outdoor environment, including music, live entertainment and much more! From the exhilarating launches of Tigris and Cheetah Hunt to the dramatic drops of Falcon’s Fury and SheiKra, this physically distant party packs endless thrills for our graduates. This spacious, open-air event offers a one-of-a-kind opportunity for Pinellas County Seniors to celebrate safely with enhanced health and safety measures throughout the park.

The Grad Nite fee is $89.00, and it includes your entrance to the park, a meal voucher and transportation. Tickets will be on sale beginning this coming Monday - April 5 through April 23, 2021 at 2:00 PM, and there will be no refunds. You may use either pcsb.revtrack.net or you may be pay by check or cash with Ms. Shields - our senior class sponsor. You will be provided with a student guide explaining all the details, and you will be expected to follow the outlined COVID measures, along with all Pinellas County School's rules and policies.

Attached is the Student Guide and Permission Slip for the event. You can find additional information on our website. Again, we are excited about this opportunity, and we hope you can attend!

If you have any questions, reach out to Ms. Shields via email. Thanks so much and have a great day!
