Weekend Update 6-6-21

Good evening Largo High Family. This is assistant principal Jonathan Marina. Welcome to the final installment of the weekend update for the 2020-2021 school year.

Underclassmen finals continue this week. 3rd and 4th periods are on Monday. 6th and 7th-period finals are on Tuesday and 5th period is on Wednesday, June 9th, 2021.  This last day of school is a half-day.

If your scholar is exempting finals, please keep them home.  We are giving finals and state tests this week.

Any scholar that still needs to take Algebra 1 EOC, Biology 1 EOC, US History EOC, Geometry EOC, FSA writing or reading can come in next week and take any of them.  We still need you to test please.

Be sure to return your computers and textbooks.  We are currently missing 100s of books from the core classes.  Be a superhero and not a supervillain and return those ASAP.

As always, thank you for taking the time to listen. We are on a mission. The mission is graduation. Don’t forget the mission.

Congratulations to the Class of 2021.  Mission complete!

Weekend Update with Assistant Principal Jonathan Marina

Good evening Largo High Family. This is assistant principal Jonathan Marina. Welcome to another installment of the weekend update.

Underclassmen parents, I want to clear up a viscous rumor out there. EOC testing and high stakes test are still required for your underclassman son or daughter. We have been given several reprieves due to COVID and I want to be clear about them.  One of the benefits of sitting for the Algebra, Geometry, Biology and US History exams, is that your son or daughter could receive a full year credit of a passing grade even when they have failed a semester at this point. Sitting for the exam allows us to calculate a full year average grade. The EOC will only count IF it helps their grade.  If they do not test, they will receive semester grades and MUST pass both semesters.  Again, if they sit for the exam, it cannot lower their grade in anyway.  It can only help them earn a full year credit if they are struggling and have an F for Semester 1 or Semester 2.  Please have them report to the gym on Tuesday or Wednesday at 8:15 AM if they are on campus and 8:15 OR 11:00 if they are MyPCS.

Computers and books for all scholars need to be returned.  They can be dropped off any time from 7am to 2pm in the Research Center.  All computers need to be returned.  9th graders will be given their same computers back once they have been checked and updated.

Graduation is June 1st at 7pm.  Congratulations to our seniors! Your mission is almost complete.

As always, thank you for taking the time to listen. We are on a mission. The mission is graduation. Don’t forget the mission.
